The Family Planning Program provides preventive physical exams with clinical breast exams and cancer screening in the form of a Pap Smear.  Pap Smears are routine but not required every year.  Women do not begin to have Pap Smears until they are 21 years old.  Annual exams are expected to be done every year especially if a woman is on some form of birth control, like the pill or the depo shot. Our family program also offers the Nexplanon and the Mirena which are continuous forms of birth control that lasts from 3 to 5 years.  The Nurse Practitioner will provide your physical exam, discuss any health issues with you, and present you with options for family planning (pregnancy planning).  The program is able to bill insurances and Medicaid and is also able to be billed on an income based sliding scale if you have no insurance.  Our staff is able to provide resources to acquire insurance if you are interested.

Services included:

  • Physical examination (including pap smear and breast exam)
  • Comprehensive history
  • Risk assessment
  • Recommended lab testing
  • Counseling and education on all methods of birth control
